Share of non-state sector makes up 79.4% in GDP of Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan’s gross domestic product increased by 9% in 2008 to 36.839 trillion soums in 2008, the State Statistics Committee said.
The committee said that the non-state sector produced 79.4% (79.3% in 2007) of GDP and the state sector - 20.6% (20.7%) in 2008.
Share of small businesses in GDP made up 48.2% in 2008 compared to 45.7% in 2008, the committee said. Out of the total volume of GDP produced by small businesses, the share of small enterprises and microfirms was 29.5% or 2.1 percentage points more than in 2007 (27.4%).
The significant growth of the real volume of gross regional product was observed in Tashkent city (18.6%), Andijan region (14%), Namangan region (12.3%) and Kashkadarya region (11.7%).
