Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A meeting with President of Aller Aqua GmbH Hans Erik Biling took place at the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan.
The purpose of the meeting with the delegation was to discuss development of cooperation in the fishing industry, in particular, creation of new capacities for the production of high-protein feed in Uzbekistan.
In September 2018, a protocol of intent to cooperate in the field of industry was signed between the association “Uzbekbaliqsanoat” and “Aller Aqua Group A/S”, and in February 2019 the company delegation arrived in Uzbekistan to discuss further steps to implement the agreements reached.
During the visit, meetings were held with the leadership of the departments responsible for the development of the fish industry, and visits to fish farms in the Tashkent and Samarkand regions were organized.
Hans Billing noted that Uzbekistan has all the possible conditions for successful development of this area and the saturation of the market with valuable fish species thanks to the developed innovative feeds containing the full range of essential minerals, vitamins and proteins for the full development of the body. In this regard, Aller Aqua GmbH has expressed interest in creating an enterprise for the production of high-protein feed and the development of dealer networks and warehouses for sale.
At the same time, a foreign party noted that the key principles of the company are environmental sustainability and minimal environmental impact, the use of certified and approved products for the manufacture of feed. The company regularly conducts research on the results of the use of feed and presents the results to the appropriate authorities.
The Uzbek side, in turn, said that fishing as an economic component in the food sector of Uzbekistan is one of the most important and invariable elements of the agricultural sector. From the government’s side, measures are being taken to develop this area, in particular, regulations have been adopted, according to which members of the Uzbekbaliqsanoat Association are exempted from a number of payments, and fishing clusters with production of at least 50 tons of products per year are exempted from all taxes and mandatory contributions for 3 years. For potential investors there are promising artificial reservoirs in Kashkadarya, Tashkent and Syrdarya regions, as well as natural reservoirs of the Aydar-Arnasay lakes system.
It was underlined that, like Uzbekistan’s market itself, with a population of 32 million, is a sought-after niche for providing fish products, so it can become an exporting country for neighboring states, particularly Afghanistan.
