Uzbekistan wins World Junior U-16 Chess Olympiad

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan national team won the World Junior U-16 Chess Olympiad, which was held in Turkey.

The national team of Uzbekistan included Nodirbek Abdusattarov, Shamsiddin Vohidov, Sitora Saparova, Zhavohir Sindarov and Nodirbek Yakubboev.

Representatives of Uzbekistan won eight rounds out of nine. In particular, the young chess players defeated teams of Hungary (4: 0), Poland (3: 1), Moldova (3.5: 0.5), Russia (3: 1), India (3: 1), Ukraine (3, 5: 0.5), Iran (2.5: 0.5), China (2.5: 0.5) and lost to the US team (1.5: 2.5).

Nodirbek Abdusattarov, Shamsiddin Vohidov, Sitora Saparova, Zhavohir Sindarov and Nodirbek Yakubboev won the first gold medal of the World Chess Olympiad among juniors under 16 years old in the history of Uzbekistan chess.
