Public Education Ministry and Israeli delegation discuss cooperation in the field of education

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation of the Holon Institute of Technology (HIT) headed by the President of HIT Professor Eduard Yakubov visited the Ministry of Public Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Alisher Umarov, First Deputy Minister of Public Education, received the delegation of Israel. During the meeting, he spoke about the activities of the Ministry on reforming of public education. It was noted that work is currently underway to revise curricula and textbooks, the press service of the Ministry of Public Education said.
The Deputy Minister of Public Education said that the ministry is studying the experience of developed countries in the field of education. It was stressed that the ministry is also interested in the experience of Israel, in particular, in the organization of teaching on STEAM disciplines and ICT.
The Uzbek side also expressed interest in studying textbooks in mathematics, physics and other subjects of Israel’s schools for possible adaptation.
They discussed creation of a joint school of physics, mathematics and technology with the involvement of the National University of Uzbekistan, cooperation in the training and retraining of teachers. The issues of training qualified ICT specialists in the schools of Uzbekistan with subsequent employment were considered as well.
Eduard Yakubov underlined that Israel is interested in developing cooperation with Uzbekistan in the field of education and expressed willingness to share its experience. He invited representatives of the Ministry of Public Education to visit Israel to study the country’s educational system and establish cooperation.
HIT President shared Israel’s best practices in developing the education system, including organizing training in such disciplines as natural sciences and technology.
The delegation was informed about the creation of a new school fund MFond, which was founded to raise additional funds for the development of infrastructure and strengthen the material and technical bases of schools in Uzbekistan.
President HIT Eduard Yakubov, a former graduate of one of the secondary schools in Uzbekistan, expressed a desire to contribute to the development of his school through MFond.
