Neftchi keep lead, Andijan go third

An emphatic 4-1 victory over Metallurg saw Andijan go third in the Uzbekistan League even as Neftchi maintained their two-point lead atop the table after the fifth round recently.
Goals from Sherzod Raimjanov (27, 90+3), Yaroslav Krushelnitskiy (63) and Sarvar Ibadullaev (67) saw Andijan romp to the big win and reach 12 points, displacing Mashal who lost to Kuruvchi 1-0 after failing to recover from Victor Karpenko’s 18th minute goal.
Akmal Holmatov (35, 88) hit a brace and Ruslan Melzitdinov (90+1) added another as Neftchi thrashed Lokomotiv 3-1 to keep defending champions Pakhtakor at an arm’s length.
Renat Bayramov scored the only goal for Pakhtakor in their 1-0 win over Samarkand.
In other matches, Kyzylkum drubbed Tupalang 3-0, Kuruvchi edged Mashal 1-0, Nasaf lost to Traktor 3-1 and Navbahor beat Bukhara 2-1.
