Unitel registers 9.5m calls in first hours of New Year

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Unitel, a subsidiary of Russia’s Vimpelcom rendering services under Beeline brand, said over 9.5 million calls were made in the first hour of New Year, of which 85% were successful.
The company said total traffic at Beeline network in New Year night was higher by 21% compared to ordinary days.
Anton Golikov, technical director of Unitel, said in the first hours of new year, the load of network is increasing and in the result of optimization of network resources and expansion of radio network, the company stood the increasing of load by 20%.
He said that the load of network increased 2.5 times compared to previous year. He added that there were no serious problems in Beeline network.
