Athletes of Uzbekistan return from the Asian Games
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 2 September 2018, a delegation of Uzbekistan returned to Tashkent with a charter flight from Indonesia. The Boeing 787 Dreamliner delivered athletes to Uzbekistan, the press service of the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan said.
Solemn meeting of the sports delegation of Uzbekistan was held at Tashkent International Airport named after Islam Karimov.
The Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov, Advisor to the President Abdujabbor Abduvahidov, Deputy Prime Minister Aziz Abdukhakimov, Tashkent City khokim Jahongir Artykkhodjaev, representatives of the National Olympic Committee, the Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports, a number of agencies, athletes, their relatives and relatives, fans, the media attended the ceremony.
Uzbek Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov, congratulating athletes on success, noted that Uzbek athletes performed at high level at the Asian Games, which means that athletes and coaches are working in the right direction.
At the end of the ceremony, the People’s Artist of Uzbekistan Yulduz Usmanova made a speech, congratulating our athletes on success, the artist along with all the guests performed the composition “Hech Kimga Bermaymiz Seni, O’zbekiston!”.
In the festively decorated “double decker” buses, the athletes went to the National Olympic Committee, where they talked with the media and made a memorable photo.
XVIII Asian Games ended in Indonesia. Uzbek team won 70 medals: 21 gold, 24 silver and 25 bronze. In the team event, Uzbekistan took the 5th place.
