Leningrad and Tashkent regions plan to sign a partnership agreement

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Leningrad region of Russia and Tashkent region of Uzbekistan intend to establish twin-city relations.
The Consul General of Uzbekistan in St. Petersburg, Jahongir Irgashev, held talks with Sergey Perminov, Vice-Governor of Leningrad Region on Domestic Politics.
According to the press service of Leningrad region, the parties discussed the prospects for development of economic and humanitarian ties between the parties, as well as establishing twin-city relations between Leningrad and Tashkent regions.
“Our economic and tourist opportunities are such that we are always open to interaction with our external partners, colleagues from the CIS countries, to any cooperation, from tourism to agriculture, and are ready to listen to your proposals. Between us, there are no borders or obstacles for our relations and contacts to be built very friendly,” Sergey Perminov said.
Jahongir Irgashev noted the increase in the trade turnover of the parties, the inexhaustible potential of opportunities and the readiness to expand cooperation. He spoke about the development of the tourism sector in Uzbekistan, promised to promote the processes of establishing twin-city relations between the subject of the Russian Federation and Tashkent region of Uzbekistan. The sides also discussed mechanisms for improving the flow of labor migrants.
At the end of the meeting, Perminov handed over to Jahongir Irgashev to agree on a partnership agreement between the two regions in the ministries and departments of Uzbekistan and Tashkent region.
