Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- According to the preliminary data, in January-July 2018 enterprises of Uzbekistan produced industrial goods for 113.1 trillion soums, which grew by 10.7% compared to the same period of last year.
State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said that the main factor of growth the total volume of industrial production was the growth in manufacturing of industry by 7.6%, mining and quarrying - by 31.2%, electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning - by 1.3%, water supply, sewerage, waste collection and disposal - by 35.6%.
The volume of products, produced by mining and quarrying enterprises in January-July 2018 amounted to 18.4 trillion soums, or 16.3% of the total volume of industry.
Compared with the same period of 2017, there was an increase in mining of crushed stone by 1.5 times, kaolin by 1.8 times, gas condensate by 16.1%, natural gas by 6.6%. At the same time, there is a decrease in oil production by 9.9%, coal - by 13.1%.
Manufacturing enterprises produced goods worth 85.5 trillion soums in January-July 2018, the growth rate by the corresponding period of the previous year was 7.6%. In the structure of manufacturing industry, relative to the corresponding period of the previous year, the share of high-tech industries made up 1.3% (1.9% in January-July 2017), medium-high technology - 28.0% (20.9%), medium-low technology - 31.4% (27.2%) and low-tech- 39.3% (50.0%).
A significant contribution to the growth of manufacturing products was made by medium-high-tech production of the republic - 5.5%, whose growth rate by the same period of 2017 amounted to 21.6%.
Carrying out of capital-restoration works of the process equipment allowed to increase the capacity utilization of chemical enterprises and to exceed the previous year’s potassium chloride production (+21.0% versus January-July 2017), ammonium nitrate (+20.4%), paints and varnishes based on acrylic or vinyl polymers (+28.3%), superphosphates (+71 , 8%), formaldehyde (2.2 times), Mineral fertilizers containing nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium (2.6 times).
The implementation of a set of measures to localize the production of agricultural machinery supplied to agriculture also contributed to the growth of medium-high-tech productions of the republic. Compared with January-July 2017, large enterprises increased production: plows - 115.0 times, tractors 7.5 times, mowers - 37.0%.
The contribution to the growth of manufacturing products by enterprises of medium-low-tech industries for the reporting period was 1.2%.
At the same time, implementation of measures to improve, in accordance with modern requirements of corporate governance systems, including through the introduction of international standards for managing production, foreign economic and investment processes in order to ensure the most complete utilization of metallurgical production capacities, ensured improved management efficiency of metallurgical enterprises (+4, 7% to January-July 2017) and to increase production: rods and rods of iron or neleg Rowan steel (+47.9%) and special shaped profiles (+40.7%), copper foils (+2.5%).
The volume of products produced by electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning enterprises amounted to 8.1 trillion soums (7.1% of the total volume of industry). In this industry in January-July 2018, compared with the same period last year, production, transmission and distribution of electricity increased by 1.3%, and production and distribution of gaseous fuels - by 1.0%.
The volume of products produced by water supply, sewerage, waste collection and disposal enterprises amounted to 1.16 trillion soums (1.0% of the total volume of industry). Compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, there is an increase in recyclables containing ferrous metals by 30.2%, recyclables containing aluminum by 89.1%, water treatment and distribution services by water pipes - by 29.8%, services by removal, transportation of waste water and their processing, by 28.9%.
As a result of the measures taken to expand the assortment and stimulate the output of finished goods, the production of consumer goods totaled 39.6 trillion soums and, compared with January-July 2017, increased by 6.0%, the share in the total volume of industry was 35, 0%.
Compared to the same period of 2017, in the structure of consumer goods in January-July of this year, there was an increase in the share of production of non-food products from 60.0% to 63.9%. In the structure of output of food products, food production amounted to 92.5%, wine and vodka products and beer - 7.5%.
During the reporting period, enterprises with foreign investments produced goods worth 42.4 trillion soums, the growth rate by the corresponding period of the previous year was 20.8%. If in the previous year the share of joint ventures in the total production amounted to 31.4% and in the reporting period it increased to 37.5%.
Contribution to the increase in industrial production of Uzbekistan of joint ventures in January-July 2018 made up 7.2%, ensuring the acceleration of the pace of reform and liberalization of the economy, increasing the competitiveness of products on the world market. In the total volume of production of joint ventures, the share of mining enterprises and quarrying amounted to 22.1%, processing industry - 77.6%.
The largest share in the structure of output of industrial output of the republic is in Tashkent city (18.3% of the republican industrial output), Tashkent region (16.2%), Navoi (11.1%), Andijan (10.4%), Kashkadarya (6.7%), Ferghana (5.8%) regions.
At the same time, the smallest share falls on Surkhandarya (1.3% of the republic’s industrial output), Jizzakh (1.4%), Syrdarya (2.1%), Namangan (2.3%) and the Khorezm (2.6%) regions.
Consistent implementation of measures to increase the industrial potential of the regions contributed to a significant increase in production in Andijan (+25.2% by January-July 2017), Surkhandarya (+24.4%), Khorezm (+13.1%), Namangan and Tashkent city (+9,7%), Kashkadarya (+9.1%), Tashkent (+9.0%) regions and the Republic of Karakalpakstan (+8.6%).
Analysis of the differentiation of output of industrial products per capita showed an excess of the average republican indicator (3.45 million soums) in Navoi region (13 million soums), Tashkent city (8.38 million soums), Tashkent (6.38 million soums) and Andijan (3.88 million soums) regions. At the same time, significantly lower than the average republican output per capita production was in Surkhandarya (594,600 soums), Namangan (971,700 soums), Jizzakh (1.21 million soums) regions.
Dynamic development of industrial activity of small business entities ensured the growth of industrial production by the corresponding period of the previous year by 6.7%, while the share of small business in industry was 32.9%.
In terms of regions, the largest share of small business was observed in Tashkent city (69.7% of the total volume of industry in the region), Namangan (66.3%), Jizzakh (63.5%) and Samarkand (53.6%).
At the same time, the smallest share of small business was registered in the Republic of Karakalpakstan (15.5%), Navoi (13.7%), Tashkent (19.0%), Kashkadarya (21.5%) and Andijan (21.6%) regions.
