Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 20 June, the 2018 Uzbekistan-Korea Youth Trade Forum was held at Inha University in Tashkent (IUT).
Students of Inha University in South Korea and Inha University in Tashkent (IUT) participated in the forum, which was organized for development of trade and economic relations between Uzbekistan and South Korea through the establishment of contacts between the youth of the two countries.
Opening the forum, Professor of Inha University in Korea Jun Yeop Lee said that the event would help to establish friendly relations between the students of the two universities. He stressed that Uzbekistan could achieve great success in the sphere of economic development.
Professor Lee said that Uzbekistan is pursuing an open policy, which is vital for doing business with foreign countries. “I hope that you - the students of the two universities will establish contacts and expand the trade and economic cooperation between the two countries,” he added.
The Rector of Inha University in Tashkent (IUT) Sarvar Babakhodjaev greeted the members of the South Korean delegation. He recalled that now two universities are working on the opening of a new faculty of “International Trade and Cooperation”, which, as expected, will be launched in 2019.
During the meeting, the IUT Rector briefed the participants about Uzbekistan’s achievements in the sphere of economic development, as well as trade-economic relations between Uzbekistan and South Korea. He noted that South Korea is one of the key partners of Uzbekistan in various sectors. South Korea has invested over US$7 billion in Uzbekistan.
At the same time, Uzbekistan is a leading trading partner of South Korea, as more than half of the trade turnover of “the Land of the Morning Calm” with Central Asian nations fell to share of our country.
During the forum, young specialists discussed the expansion of trade and economic relations between countries, international trade business practices, etc.
