Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation of Uzbekistan led by the chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Nigmatlya Yuldashev held talks with the Prime Minister of Belarus Andrei Kobyakov in Minsk last week.
During the meeting, Kobyakov suggested that Uzbekistan and Belarus should prepare a roadmap for cooperation for 2019-2020, BELTA reported.
In his opinion, this program can become part of the mechanism for implementing the agreement between the countries on socio-economic cooperation until 2028, which is expected to be signed during the official visit of the head of state to Uzbekistan.
“We must present concrete achievements, real projects primarily in the economic sphere,” Andrei Kobyakov said.
In addition to the development of trade relations, industrial cooperation, the two countries have great potential for cooperation in the field of information technology. "We believe that we have opportunities to implement projects in the IT sector in Uzbekistan. We are ready to offer such projects in the field of rail and road passenger transport, "the Prime Minister added.
He also noted the prospects for intensifying bilateral cooperation in the spheres of education and culture.
“We are ready on the basis of Belarusian educational institutions to train cadres for the economy of Uzbekistan in the specialties of interest,” Andrei Kobyakov said. - In April 2018, the days of culture and cinema of Belarus in Uzbekistan were successfully held. We will wait for the creative delegation from Uzbekistan in accordance with the existing agreements at the end of the year.”
“We are ready to share our experience in the agro-industrial complex and take part in the creation of agrarian complexes in the meat and dairy sector in Uzbekistan and in the processing of livestock products by providing equipment, technologies, as well as supplies of breeding products and cattle. We are ready to consider the possibilities, including the joint production of components, equipment, which will be in demand,” Andrei Kobyakov said.
He stressed that the two countries have good opportunities for cooperation in various fields. The possibility of assembling tractor, road-building machinery, buses on gas engine fuel is considered in Uzbekistan.
The Prime Minister stressed that the positive dynamics of the development of bilateral trade. "But the mutual trade volume of US$130 million is very small figures. The potential of our economies far exceeds them, we must increase our mutual trade in the near future, "Andrei Kobyakov said. - We can offer products that are traditionally in demand not only in Belarus, but also abroad. These are dairy products, beef, poultry products. We are ready to consider the proposal of the Uzbek side on the direct supply of cotton fiber to Belarus, fresh and processed fruits and vegetables, nuts. "
Nigmatilla Yuldashev thanked the Belarusian side for its hospitality and said: "Uzbekistan is pleased to note Belarus’ achievements in social and economic development. Belarus is one of the important and promising partners of Uzbekistan. At the heart of the successful development of bilateral relations are trust relations between the heads of state. "
