Uzbekistan to introduce automated system of accounting and payment for travel in passenger transport
A draft resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan “On introduction of an automated system of accounting and payment for travel in urban passenger transport” was published on the portal for discussion of draft normative legal acts.
According to the document, the automated system of accounting and payment of travel (ASOP) will be introduced in public passenger transport (except for taxis), including the subway.
The head of Uzbekistan created an interdepartmental working group to implement the project of introduction of the ASOP.
The group will study the international practice of functioning of the automated system of accounting and payment for travel in urban passenger transport and, following the results of the study, will develop a technical task.
The group will also create an appropriate information technology infrastructure and introduce new ways of paying for travel.
The President instructed the Association of Banks together with the Single Republican Processing Center (SRPC) to ensure the integration of the ASOP with the processing of the SRPC and the payment system "Uzcard" for payments in offline and online (including ePOS) modes. The commission rate for processing will be set at a rate not exceeding 0.1 percent of the transfer amount.
The President instructed to update the turnstiles of the subway, which are necessary for introduction of the ASOP, at the expense of the state budget.
The resolution said that personalized ID Card will be used to determine the categories of citizens with their subsequent use as a preferential transport card.
The President instructed in three months to develop a provision for payment for travel on passenger transport by means of ASOP transport cards.
