Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Enter Engineering Pte Ltd., controlled by Russia’s Gazprombank group, plans to begin construction of a US$2.2 billion pipeline from a new oil refinery in Uzbekistan to the border with Kazakhstan in July-December, the company’s representative told PRIME on Thursday.
Construction of the facility started in April 2017. In June, Gas Project Development Central Asia AG, a subsidiary of Gazprom International, and Uzbekneftegaz set up the Jizzah Petroleum joint venture with 40% and 60%, respectively. Enter Engineering is the general contractor.
The Enter Engineering said that geographic and topographic surveys on the pipeline’s route are now performed.
Uzbekneftegaz said earlier that a 100-kilometer pipeline will be built to plug into the Omsk-Pavlodar-Chimkent pipeline in Kazakhstan to supply the refinery with crude.
The refinery will refine 5 million tonnes of hydrocarbons from Russia and Kazakhstan annually to produce 3.7 million tonnes of Euro-5 gas motor fuel, 700,000 tonnes of aviation fuel, and 300,000 tonnes of associated products including liquefied natural gas, heating oil and benzol.
