Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan produced agriculture, forestry and fishery products for 5.52 trillion soums in January-March 2018, which grew by 1.8% compared to the same period of 2018.
Production of plants, animal husbandry, hunting and provision of services in these areas made up 5.44 trillion soums (+1.8%), in forestry – 27.9 billion soums (+0.9%), in fishery – 50 billion soums (+5.1%).
The highest growth rates were observed in Bukhara (+3.8%), Navoi (+3.2%), Surkhandarya (+2.4%) and Ferghana (+2.2%) regions. On the contrary, slow rates were observed in Jizzakh (+0.7%), Kashkadarya (+0.8%), Syrdarya and Khorezm (+0.9%) regions.
Tashkent region accounted 16.9% in total volume of produced agriculture, forestry and fishery products of Uzbekistan in the reporting period. Surkhandarya and Samarkand regions followed Tashkent region with the indicators of 13.6% and 10.3%, respectively.
The lowest share was registered in Karakalpakstan (2.1%), Syrdarya (3.3%) and Namangan (4.4%) regions.
Growth in agricultural output in January-March 2018 compared with the corresponding period 2017 made up 1.8%, including crop production – 1.9% and livestock –1.8%.
About 87.5% of total volume of agricultural production fell to share of dehkan (personal subsidiary) farms, 6.3% - on farms, 6.2% - on organizations engaged in agricultural activities.
The volume of production of plant growing in January-March 2018 amounted to 1.29 trillion soums or grew by 1.9% year-on-year. The share of crop production in the total volume of agricultural production was 24%.
In January-March 2018, all categories of farms collected vegetables in volume – 56,000 tonnes (+2.2%).
The volume of production of livestock products in January-March 2018 reached 4.078 trillion soums, or grew by 1.8% year-on-year.
In the total production of agricultural products, the share of livestock products made up 76%. In January-March 2018, all categories of farms produced 440,900 tonnes of meat in live weight (+1.5% year-on-year), 1.68 million tonnes of milk (+2.4%), 1.23 billion eggs (+2.5%), 407,400 pieces of Karakul pelts (-0.9%).
Dehkan farms produced 93.6% of meat in January-March, 95.4% of milk, 50.3% of eggs, 86.4% of wool, 91.7% of Karakul pelts.
As of 1 April 2018, total number of cattle reached 12.24 million heads, including cows – 4.3 million heads, sheep and goats – 20.43 million heads, birds – 71.12 million heads. In comparison with the corresponding period of 2017, the number of cattle increased by 281,600 heads (+2.4%) in all categories of farms, including cows - by 34,900 heads (+0.8%), sheep and goats - by 504,800 heads (+2.5%), birds - by 4.27 million heads (+6.4%).
Farms account 4.9% of cattle, dehhan farms – 93.7% and agriculture enterprises – 1.4%. Farms own 10.3% of sheep and goats, dehkan farms – 84.3%, agriculture enterprises – 5.4%.
At the same time, farms had 12.5% of total number of birds, dehkan farms -63.4% and agriculture enterprises – 24.1%.
