Surkhandarya region excluded from list of potentially dangerous destinations for visit of Korean citizens
The State Committee for Tourism of the Republic of Uzbekistan carried out work to exclude the list of potentially dangerous destinations for the visit of Korean citizens.
Prior to this, the region was a high-risk zone and was not recommended for visiting. Ambassador of South Korea visited the region and got acquainted with local infrastructure and development of tourism.
On 2 March, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea abolished a decision to assign "Termez and bordering areas with Afghanistan to the list of areas of special attention during the travels of Korean citizens.
The Uzbek committee said that the decision of South Korean side will help to attract thousands of tourists from Korea to Uzbekistan, and also promote cooperation in areas of economy, tourism and culture between countries.
