Uzbekistan to resume activities of some checking points on border with Tajikistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Government of Uzbekistan approved measures to resume the activities of some border checkpoints on the state border between Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.
According to the document, Uzbekistan will implement measures to improve infrastructure of automobile checkpoints “Jartepa” in Samarkand region, “Kushkent” and “Uchturgan” in Jizzakh region, “Hovostobod” in Syrdarya region, “Bekobod” in Tashkent region, “Pop” in Namangan region, “Ravot” in Ferghana region and “Gulbahor” in Surkhandarya region, as well as the railway crossing point Amuzang.
The Government also ordered to create a border post in the village of Jartepa in Urgut district of Samarkand region. Also, the necessary conditions for population will be created at the posts.
Uzbekiston Temir Yollari (Uzbekistan Railways) was entrusted to reconstruct the Uzbek part of the Galaba-Khoshadiy railway and equipping the checkpoint by 1 March 2018.
