Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Russian company Gazprom plans to purchase about 20 billion cubic meters of gas in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan in 2018, RIA Novosti reported quoting representative of Gazprom Export Andrei Zotov.
He underlined that the decision to increase purchases of Central Asian gas was made after the meetings of the heads of Russia, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan in the third quarter of this year.
Zotov said that Gazprom bought 20 billion cubic meters of gas in 2017. The same amount will be purchased in 2018.
In early April 2017, Gazprom concluded a five-year contract with Uzbekistan to purchase 4 billion cubic meters of gas a year from 2018 and onwards.
Also, Gazprom and Uzbekneftegaz signed an agreement on joint exploration and organization of engineering and innovation works.
