Uzbekistan produces industrial goods for 99.06 trillion soums in January-September

Tashkent, Uzbekistan ( -- Uzbekistan produced industrial goods for 99.06 trillion soums in January-September 2017, which grew by 5.6% year-on-year.

According to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan, modernization, technical and technological re-equipment of industries contributed to the growth of labor productivity by 3.9% compared to January- September of the previous year.

The industrial production index was 4.1%. In the structure of industrial production the largest share falls on manufacturing – 79% (the growth rate to January-September 2016 –5.1%). The share of mining and quarrying was 11.7% (+8.4%), electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning – 8.6% (+7.2%), water supply, sewerage, waste management and remediation – 0.7% (+9.9%).

As a result of measures taken to support and stimulate the development of private entrepreneurship, the output of small business in industry increased by 0.4 percent compared to January-September 2016. The share of small business in total industrial output was 41.2 percent, its share in manufacturing – 51 percent.

The Program for localization of production of finished products, components and materials has contributed to the development of the industrial production of the republic, within the framework of the Program in January-September 2017 goods were produced to the amount of 5.8 trillion soums, localized products were exported to the amount of US$350.9 million.

Expansion of the assortment and stimulation of production of finished products contributed to the increase in the production of consumer goods in comparison with January-September 2016 (+5%), the share of which in the total industrial output was 41.5% against 39.8% in the same period of 2016.
