Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Bilateral trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Malaysia reached US$36.4 million in January-September 2008.
Trade turnover between two states comprised US$33.3 million in 2007, according to official data of Uzbekistan.
The Uzbek government said Malaysia is one of the important trade-economic partners of Uzbekistan in southern-eastern Asia.
Currently, 22 enterprises with Malaysian enterprises work in Uzbekistan, of which three are with 100% Malaysian capita. Among these ventures are UzMalOil (oil production), Malika Tielway (textile products), Fayz Mint Plaza (furniture products) and others.
The two countries are expected to enhance their close relationship, especially in the areas of economic and human capital development.
