Uzbekistan to open general consulate in Kazan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Russia approved an opening of the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Kazan (Tataristan).
Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev signed a corresponding order.
According to the document, the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Kazan will be responsible for the territory of Bashkiria, Mari El, Mordovia, Tatarstan, Udmurtia, Chuvashia, Perm Krai, Nizhny Novgorod, Orenburg, Penza, Samara, Saratov and Ulyanovsk regions.
Dmitry Medvedev recommended that the Government of Tatarstan to allocate office and residential premises for the consulate general on terms of rent or purchase.
At the moment, the embassy of Uzbekistan in Moscow and the consulate in Novosibirsk operate in Russia. Uzbekistan also plans to open a general consulate in Yekaterinburg.
