Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Zoyir Mirzaev held a meeting with the President of Indonesia Joko Widodo in Jakarta on 21 August 2017.
The visit of the Uzbek delegation to Indonesia was aimed at strengthening cooperation, especially in the fields of agriculture and fisheries.
Uzbek Deputy Prime Minister also arrived in Indonesia to study developments in agriculture and fishery sectors.
The delegation of Uzbekistan discussed issues on food self-sufficiency program and development of pepper with Indonesian Minister of Agriculture Amran Sulaiman. The Uzbekistan party expressed interest in learning aquaculture.
The sides agreed that the Indonesian delegation will visit Uzbekistan to realize the cooperation, Indonesian media reported.
The sides also noted that cooperation in the field of trade had a great potential for improvement.
Indonesia-Uzbekistan trade currently reaches US$11 million, with Indonesia importing cotton from Uzbekistan and exporting furniture and crude oil to Uzbekistan.
