IUT students enjoy their time at Inha Summer School

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A group of students from Inha University in Tashkent (IUT) took part in Summer School of Inha University in the Republic of Korea from 17 July to 4 August 2017.
Ibrat Abidov, Nigmatjon Anvarov, Tulkinjon Isakov, Malika Juraeva, Jamoliddinhuja Odilkhujaev, Dostonkhon Ozodkhujaev, Ilkhom Rakhimov, Abdul Jamol Salim, Iroda Ulmasbaeva and Darhonbek Mamataliev received the opportunity to take part in the Inha Summer School in the Republic of Korea for free of charge.
Nine of ten participants of the Inha Summer School were selected in the result of internal contests of Inha University in Tashkent, which were held in February-April 2017. Darhonbek Mamataliev booked his place in the Inha Summer School for his contribution to implementation of several IUT projects, including CodeCraft courses. Additionally five IUT students participated in Inha Summer School at own expense.
Along with students from Uzbekistan, young people from Indonesia, Great Britain, Malaysia, France, Germany, China, Italy, Russia, Kazakhstan and other countries also took part in Inha Summer School.
Iroda Ulmasbaeva said: “Thanks to participation of students from over 16 countries in Inha Summer School, we were able to familiarize ourselves not only with culture of Korea, but also with cultures of such counties as China, Indonesia, Malaysia, France, Germany and others.”
“Moreover, when we became friends with them, we learned more subtle details of their traditions and customs. At the end of the programme, we exchanged souvenirs and contacts, and still we are in touch with them,” she noted.
During the visit, IUT students got acquainted with a campus of Inha University in South Korea and conditions created for students.
At the Summer School, students took such courses as Korean language, Korean Business and Economy, East Asian Politics and International Relations, Korea and its culture, Modern Future Technologies and others.
Dostonkhon Ozodkhujaev commented: “During the Inha Summer school, we received opportunity not only familiarize ourselves with culture and traditions of South Korea, but also acquire new knowledge in information technologies, which is our core field”.
“During three weeks, we took “Modern Technologies for the Future” courses. Within this course, we learned a lot from the world of information technologies, got acquainted with innovations in the most diverse spheres of our life and got invaluable experience, which will be useful for us in the future,” he said.
“Along with taking this course, we also visited various laboratories, where we received information real projects of engineers of Inha Unievrsity in South Korea,” Ozodkhujaev added.
IUT student said: “At the same time, we learned Korean language. We learned to read and write in Korean language. I liked Inha Summer School and learned a lot new for myself.”
Representatives of Uzbekistan also visited several laboratories, including 3D printing and water recycling laboratories to familiarize themselves with their activities.
Jamoliddinhuja Odilkhujaev said: “I liked the laboratories, which we visited. We familiarized ourselves with 3D printers, as well as how they work and how art works are produced from simple polymers. I was surprised to the fact that 3D printing needs almost nothing – you need to download the layout from the Internet and click on the “Print” button. I would like to have such 3D printer at my home.”
In addition, students had an opportunity to get acquainted with the culture and sights of the Republic of Korea. The delegation of Uzbekistan visited Ganghwado Island, Everland Amusement Park in Seoul suburb of Yongin, Lotte World Tower, Dongdaemun History and Culture Park, Incheon Central Park, etc. They also took a ride on the cruise ship Hyundai on the Ara channel.
IUT students visited Nanta Show, which is a non-verbal comedy show that incorporates traditional samul nori rhythm. Nanta Show is one of popular show among students.
Malika Juraeva said: “Inha Summer School allowed us to acquire great experience. Along with lessons, Inha University in South Korea organized field trips to the interesting and historic places of the city. The visit to Gwangmyeong Cave - Korea’s Best cave theme park - trip left on me vivid memories. Gwangmyeong Cave is decorated with historical heritage and some interesting things, which describes culture of Korea. We were surprised, when we saw a huge dragon named ‘Lord of the Cave’, the largest dragon statue in Korea (41 m in length, 800 kg in weight), a life-size Golum replica and the staff of Gandalf in the ‘Lord of the Rings’ films created by the Weta Workshop”.
