President: Over the past decade, Uzbekistan uses 196 trillion soums

Tashkent, Uzbekistan ( -- Over the past decade, 196 trillion and 6 billion soums of capital investments were directed to implementation of the investment programmes of Uzbekistan, the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev said in his congratulations to the builders of the country.

According to Uzbek President, over 20,000 objects were built at the expense of centralized sources of financing, including 7,440 general schools, 1,824 vocational colleges and academic lyceums, 1,951 children’s sports facilities, 949 hospitals and 3,708 drinking water facilities .

Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted that investment projects were realized for US$40 billion and 3 million due to foreign loans.

Over the past ten years, in 1,308 rural settlements of our country, 69,557 comfortable houses have been built on the basis of standard projects and 83,500 families have been radically improved, as a result, he noted.

“In order to create favorable conditions for our people, especially the poor and the young families, we have adopted and are implementing a program for construction of affordable and well-maintained housing. At present, large-scale work on the construction of affordable housing is being carried out in all regions of the country, in particular 191 in the regional centers, 102 in Sergeli district of Tashkent city, and more than 15,000 similar houses in rural areas," the President of Uzbekistan said.

Currently there are about 24 thousand construction and contracting companies and more than 950 design organizations, 8 thousand enterprises in Uzbekistan are engaged in production of building materials.
