New 17 small industrial zones to be created in Tashkent region

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 10 August 2017, the President of Uzbekistan signed a resolution “On establishment of small industrial zones in Tashkent region”.
The document was adopted with a view to making full use of the rich natural, mineral, raw materials, scientific, technical and labor potential of Tashkent region, further supporting and stimulating development of new competitive industrial enterprises and small private enterprises, deepening industrial cooperation, creating new jobs on this basis and increasing income of population.
Uzbek President approved proposals to create 17 small industrial zones in Tashkent region based on production areas and land plots.
The document said that that the immovable state property located on the territory of the zone is provided to business entities for 10 years, with subsequent granting of ownership, subject to the fulfillment of business plans, creation and retention of jobs, timely payment of all taxes and other mandatory Payments.
For the use of immovable state property located on the territory of the zone, a zero rate of rent is set, the document said.
The participants of the small industrial zones are also subject to tax incentives established for small industrial zones in Tashkent.
President instructed the Fund for Reconstruction and Development of Uzbekistan to open a credit line in the amount of US$50 million for purchase of imported equipment and components.
