Uzbekistan creates greenhouses using hydroponics technology
A draft resolution of the President of Uzbekistan “On measures for further development and creation of greenhouse complexes using hydroponics technology” was published for discussion.
Hydroponics is a subset of hydroculture, the method of growing plants without soil, using mineral nutrient solutions in a water solvent. Terrestrial plants may be grown with only their roots exposed to the mineral solution, or the roots may be supported by an inert medium, such as perlite or gravel.
According to the draft resolution, greenhouse complexes will be created on dry (non-irrigated) lands in all regions of Uzbekistan. It is planned to attract foreign investments for organization of greenhouses.
It is expected that the greenhouse complexes will receive tax and customs benefits until the end of 2021.
