Mininfocom and SAP sign memorandum of understanding

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Ministry for Development of Information Technologies and Communications of Uzbekistan (Mininfocom) and SAP CIS reached agreement on cooperation in development of the digital economy in Uzbekistan.

On 10 July, acting Minister for Development of Information Technologies and Communications of Uzbekistan Sherzod Shermatov and CEO of SAP CIS Ilya Yuryev signed a memorandum of understanding.

Within the framework of this document the sides agreed to cooperate in the training of personnel in the field of ICT through the SAP University Alliance the implementation of high-tech projects and promotion of IT services exports.

SAP will also support the transfer of international experience and technology transfer, introduction of modern billing systems based on SAP solutions for utilities, digitization of economic sectors, etc.

The document also envisages measures for increasing expertise of local partners and integrators for their further participation in projects for implementation and support of SAP solutions within Uzbekistan, as well as export of these services to other countries.

In addition, within the framework of the document SAP will open a permanent representative office in Uzbekistan.
