Prime Minister of Uzbekistan receives Minister of Agriculture of China

Tashkent, Uzbekistan ( -- Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov held talks with the Minister of Agriculture of China Han Changfu.

According to the Xinhua News Agency, Han Changfu conveyed greetings from the Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China Li Keqiang to the head of the government of Uzbekistan.

The Minister noted that his current visit is aimed at implementing the agreements of the leaders of the two countries and promoting comprehensive bilateral cooperation in the agriculture sphere.

Uzbekistan and China should expand cooperation in the field of investment in agriculture and trade in related products, Han Changfu said. The parties should also actively promote the construction of agro-industrial parks and explore the possibility of joint creation of an international exemplary zone of livestock.

According to the Chinese Minister, Uzbekistan and China should strengthen cooperation in the field of agricultural science and technology and humanitarian contacts, provide technological support and market space for joint development of agriculture in the two countries.

Abdulla Aripov stressed that the government of Uzbekistan pays special attention to development of agriculture and hopes to study the experience of China. He noted that Uzbekistan hopes to strengthen cooperation with China in such key areas as processing of agricultural products, cotton growing, aquaculture and silkworms, stimulate the export of agricultural products and increase farmers’ incomes.
