Delegation of Uzbekistan visits Latvia
During the visit, a presentation of the tourism potential of Uzbekistan was held in Riga. The business meetings in the B2B format between Uzbek, Latvian, Lithuanian and Estonian tour operators was also held within the event.
Over 50 tour operators from the Baltic countries and Scandinavia and 5 leading tour operators of Uzbekistan took part in the event.
During the event, videos were shown about the tourism potential of Uzbekistan to demonstrate cultural, cognitive, gastronomic, pilgrim and ecological tourism opportunities of Uzbekistan.
Within the framework of the visit, the delegation of Uzbekistan held negotiations with the Minister of Economy of Latvia Arvils Ašeradens, the exective director of the Latvian Association of Travel Agencies Astrida Trupovniece and the vice mayor of Riga, Andris Ameriks.
The sides exchanged views on the actual practical directions of tourism development in Uzbekistan, in particular, ways of developing mutually beneficial cooperation, increasing the tourist flow, attracting investments in improving the tourism infrastructure, discussing the promotion of tourism potential of Uzbekistan not only in the Baltic countries, but also in neighboring Scandinavian countries .
After the negotiations, Uzbekistan and Latvia signed a memorandum of cooperation on bilateral promotion of Latvia and Uzbekistan within the framework of the exhibitions BaltTour and Tashkent International Tour Fair.
Anvar Sharapov met with the leaders of the leading universities in Riga, who expressed their readiness to assist in the issues of branding in the tourism sector and training on the latest educational programs for the development of tourism in European countries.
At the end of the meeting, the Uzbek side invited the representatives of the Latvian tourism industry to participate in the annual Tashkent International Tourism Fair in October this year. And the program "Hosted Buyers / Professional Buyer".
