China to provide equipment for customs body of Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 24 May 2017, President of Uzbekistan signed a resolution “On measures on ensuring effective use of grant, provided by the Government of the People’s Republic of China to equip the customs posts of the Republic of Uzbekistan”.
According to the resolution, the Government of China granted Uzbekistan a grant totaling 126 million yuans (equivalent to US$18.3 million).
China has provided a grant in the form of four large-size inspection complexes for the control of rail freight and ten sets of scanning systems for the control of medium-sized cargo and spare parts for them.
Uzbek President instructed the State Customs Committee to ensure the acceptance of scanning equipment and use of four large-scale inspection and inspection complexes to control railway cargo at the railway border posts “Uzbekistan”, “Bekabad” (Tashkent region), “Khojdavlat” (Bukhara region) and “Sariasiya” (Surkhandarya region), as well as ten sets of scanning systems for control of medium-sized cargo - at the border customs post of International Tashkent Airport.
The scanning equipment imported from the grant funds is exempted from customs payments, the document said.
