Uzbek, Australian Foreign Ministries hold consultations

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 24 May 2017, Uzbekistan and Australia held consultations at the level of Ministries of Foreign Affairs, the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
The consultations were held in Tashkent within the framework of regular bilateral inter-ministerial consultations. Australian delegation was led by the Head of the Department of South and West Asia, James Hall.
Diplomats of Uzbekistan and Australia discussed a wide range of issues with an emphasis on the prospects for further development of cooperation in the political, trade-economic, investment, cultural, humanitarian and other spheres.
Representatives of the foreign policy bodies of Uzbekistan and Australia exchanged views on expanding the legal framework for relations.
In particular, they discussed the drafts of intergovernmental agreements “On promotion and mutual protection of investments” and “On cooperation in the field of tourism”, which are considered by the parties.
