Vocational Training Centers to be created in all regions
The Government of Uzbekistan issued a resolution “On measures on creating the Vocational Training Centers for unemployment in the regions of Uzbekistan”.
The resolution approved a programme on stage-by-stage creation of the Vocational Training Centers for unemployed.
Currently, Vocational Training Centers function in Tashkent and Samarkand, which were created with the support of South Korean Government.
The Government of Korea provided financial assistance to create such centers in Shakhrisabz, Urgench and Qoqand. According to the resolution, another 11 centers will be created in the regions of Uzbekistan.
The programme will be created due to resources of the State Fund for assisting employment, donor-states and preferential loans of international financial institutions.
Each center will be designed for 240 place. They will provide free re-training courses for unemployed people for free. The courses will last 1 year.
The students will receive stipend at the size equal to one size of minimal salary within six months.
The centers will also provide paid courses to persons, who are searching jobs, and employees of the companies.
