Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Senate of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan signed a memorandum of cooperation. Chairperson of the Senate of Parliament of Kazakhstan Kasym-Jomart Tokaev and First Deputy Chairperson of Senate of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan Sodiq Safaev signed the document.
The document was inked within the state visit of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Kazakhstan.
The memorandum is aimed at deepening the inter-parliamentary dialogue and envisages support from the upper chambers of the parliaments of the two countries for expanding political, trade-economic, investment and cultural-humanitarian relations.
Senates of the two countries will also contribute to the expansion of the legal framework for bilateral cooperation.
The implementation of the Memorandum will be carried out in the form of exchange of visits, participation in parliamentary events, mutual support and coordination of positions in international parliamentary organizations.
