Delegation of Uzbekistan visits Novosibirsk region

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation of Uzbekistan led by the governor of Andijan region Shukhratbek Abdurakhmanov is paying a visit to Novosibirsk region (Russia).
On 21 March 2017, the delegation of Uzbekistan held negotiations with the First Chairperson of the Government of Novosibirsk region Vladimir Znatkov.
During the meeting, trade turnover between Novosibirsk region and Uzbekistan grew by 1.5 times in 2016 and reached US$48.5 million.
The sides considered perspectives of trade-economic cooperation between the two regions.
Vladimir Znatkov said that Uzbekistan and Novosibirsk region established reliable business, economic, cultural and trade relations, which allow to hope to increase mutual beneficial cooperation.
He said that active joint work is conducted in industry, medicine and education with Uzbekistan, including Andijan region.
Znatkov said that Novosibirsk region have great experience on economic and cultural cooperation and the region is ready to develop an agreement and create conditions for further expanding trade-economic potential.
Shukhratbek Abdurakhmanov said that the delegation of Uzbekistan visits Novosibirsk region to establish long-term partnership relations, including supply of fresh and processed fruits and vegetables.
He said that agreement on creation of “green corridor” of supply of fruits and vegetables to Novosibirsk region was achieved. This will allow to optimize time, spend to undergoing phytosanitary, customs and other controls. It is planned to hold food exhibitions, fairs and organize various business visits.
Head of Andijan region underlined importance of further developing cultural and humanitarian spheres, including tourism, healthcare and education between the regions.
