Uzbekistan creates “Development Strategy” Center
The Center will have status of non-governmental and non-commercial organizations. The founders of the Center are Independent institute for monitoring of the formation of civil society, the Institute for Monitoring of Current Legislation under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Chamber of Commerce, Chamber of Advocates of Uzbekistan, Academy of Public Administration under the President of Uzbekistan, the National Association of Electronic Mass Media, the National Association of NGOs of Uzbekistan.
The Center will consolidate efforts on efficient of organization of expert and public discussions, preparation and realization of events, envisaged in the Action strategy on priority directions of Uzbekistan for 2017-2021, actively attract representatives of the civil society, experts and scholars to the process of democratization and modernization of the country.
The Center will provide information-analytical support of the measures, envisaged in the action strategy, study advanced foreign experience, assessment of international organizations and exports to the measures, realized within this document, as well as organize wide expert and public discussions.
The Center will make proposals on efficient realization of the action strategy, including preparation of draft laws and other legal documents, establish cooperation with international organizations, scientific-research, information-analytical and educational institutions.
Akmal Burkhanov was appointed as the executive director of the Center on a voluntary basis. He is the MP of the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan.
President of Uzbekistan adopted the Action strategy on priority directions of Uzbekistan for 2017-2021. The strategy includes five priority directions of development of Uzbekistan.
