Gazprom, Uzbekneftegaz plan to sign PSA

Tashkent, Uzbekistan ( -- Gas Project Development Central Asia (subsidiary of Russia’s Gazprom) and Uzbekneftegaz are planning to sign a product sharing agreement (PSA) for development of gas field in Surkhandarya region of Uzbekistan, chairperson of the board of Uzbekneftegaz Alisher Sultanov said.

Alisher Sultanov said that the sides are working on PSA. He said that GPD and Uzbekneftegaz are planning to sign the PSA within the visit of the President of Russia Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Russia in early April 2017.

GPD and Uzbekneftegaz will prepare the PSA on investment block “Uzbekistan mustakilligi” ("Independence of Uzbekistan") by the end of March 2017. The PSA will envisage on further exploration and development of deposits of "25 Years of Independence" with the construction of the gas chemical complex in Surkhandarya region.

Sultanov said that the field is not a simple, complex and both on geology and gas composition. He noted that, nevertheless, investors is coming with the condition of building a gas processing plant, and in the future - with the monetization of gas.

The sides are also preparing another PSA on development of gas condensate field Dzel in Ustyurt Plateau.

Sultanov said that the sides are preparing a technical task and considering preparation of the PSA with Gazprom.
