Uzbek Labour Ministry, ILO discuss cooperation issues

Tashkent, Uzbekistan ( -- A delegation of International Labour Organization (ILO) held negotiations at the Ministry of Labour of Uzbekistan on 15 February.

The ILO delegation is visiting Uzbekistan to discuss extension of country decent labour programme.

Special advisor of General-Director of International Labour Bureau Kari Tapiola said that Uzbekistan is conducting a stage-by-stage work to improve labour protection. He noted that Uzbekistan fully stopped child labour, the Uzbek Labour Ministry said.

The ILO delegation expressed readiness to prolong a memorandum of cooperation on decent labour, within which ILO plans to organize various events, trainings and seminars on implementation of ILO conventions and improve labour inspection.

At the meeting, the sides also considered other aspects and perspectives of cooperation between ILO and Labour Ministry.
