Prosecutor Generals of Uzbekistan and Russia hold talks

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Prosecutor General of Uzbekistan Ikhtiyor Abdullaev held negotiations with his Russian counterpart Yuriy Chayka in Moscow, the press service of the Russian Prosecutor General’s Office said.
Yuriy Chayka said that the interaction of the Russian and Uzbek prosecutors’ offices is characterized by a high level of mutual understanding and trust. He added that the cooperation successfully develops in the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, as well as the activities of the United Nations and the International Association of Prosecutors.
It was noted that the prosecurotors of Uzbekistan and Russia are exchanging experience in international cooperation in criminal matters, the fight against trafficking in human beings, the organization of legal education on regular basis.
During the talks, the sides discussed issues of cooperation between prosecutor bodies of two states, as well as the participation of the Prosecutor General of Uzbekistan in the work of the Coordinating Council of Prosecutors Generals of the CIS.
During the event, a Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation in the field of training between the Academy of the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation and Higher education courses of the General Prosecutor’s Office of Uzbekistan was signed.
