Gasoline prices hike in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan hiked prices for gasoline from 23 October 2016. The growth of prices made up from 31.6% to 34.9% based on the mark of the gasoline.
The price for one liter of Ai-80 gasoline rose from 2,075 soums to 2,800 soums (+34.5%), Ai-91 – from 2,280 soums to 3,000 soums (+31.6%) and Ai-95 – from 2,505 soums to 3,300 soums (+31.7%). New prices will be single for all refueling stations across Uzbekistan.
Uzbekneftegaz stated that the single prices for gasoline were set to fight with overpricing at refueling stations and re-selling of fuel.
The company said that citizens of Uzbekistan submitted appeals to the virtual cabinet of Prime Minister of Uzbekistan in connection with interruptions of gasoline supplies to refueling stations, long queues at the refueling stations, as well as difference in prices at refueling stations of Tashkent and the regions of Uzbekistan. Illegal actions of some citizens, who are purchasing gasoline in Tashkent and selling it in regions at the price from 3,000 to 5,000 a liter were also noted in the appeals.
The statement of the company said that Uzbekneftegaz and corresponding ministries and state departments adopted decision to set single gasoline prices across Uzbekistan from 22 October to eliminate above mentioned situations and prevent illegal actions of some citizens.
In line with the decision, the retail price for Ai-80 gasoline is set at 2,800 soums, Ai-91, Ai-92, Ai-93 – 3,000 soums and Ai-95 – 3,300 soums per liter.
