Route of tram No. 13 shortened, roads to be expanded

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Route of tram No. 1 “Kuylyuk Center – TTZ” will be shortened from 1 August 2015 from TTZ station till station of the Tashkent railway station (Severniy), Tashkent Administration said in a statement.
According to the administration of Tashkent, the decision was adopted in connection with that the expanses to transfer one passenger is higher than set fee for several times.
Toshshahartranshizmat underlined that the cost of transportation of one passenger in tram is over 2,400 soums, while the fee for transportation is 1,000 soums. The expenses are higher than the fee by 2.4 times.
The statement of Tashkent administration said that tram railings will be removed at Yuzrobot, Feruza, Mirzo Ulugbek and Tarraqiyot streets. In the result, the automobile road in these streets will expand by 10 meters.
New eight-lane high speed road will be constructed at Mirzo Ulugbek street.
In order to satisfy demand of passengers in the route, Toshshahartranshizmat will increase number of buses on routes No. 17, 63, 83, 96, 110, 119 and 129 and taxi-buses No 28M, 75M, 80M, 137M and 168M.
The company also launched bus on route No. 14 “TTZ – Tashkent railway station”, which will be operated by 12 buses of Mercedes- Benz Low Floor model.
