KOICA holds evaluation of project “Establishment of Vocational Training Centre in Tashkent”

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Korea International Cooperation Agency KOICA, which implements state grant-aid programs, will be conducting the ex-post evaluation of the results of the project "Establishment of Vocational Training Centre in Tashkent."
The construction of Vocational Training Centre in Tashkent was completed in June 2012 under the grant-aid of KOICA, and as of today this Centre is one of its kind in Uzbekistan.
The center has such departments as “Automobile”, “Machinery”, “Electrotechnics & electromechanics” and “ICT”. Over the 3 years of operation the center has released about 1,500 graduates, with a graduate employment rate of over 90%. The project has received high appreciation from the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Due to success of this Center, KOICA has received an additional request from the Government of Uzbekistan for implementation of similar projects for establishment of training centers 4 regions of Uzbekistan. As of today, agreements have been signed for commencement of works for projects in Samarkand and Shahrisabz.
Nowadays Sangmyung university experts are conducting an evaluation of the results of operations of vocational training center in Tashkent. The evaluation team plans to verify the obtained data on the project, as well as to conduct interviews with staff and graduates of the center. This visit of the evaluation team is of great importance for the future management of vocational training centers in Uzbekistan.
