Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan plans to introduce a system of tracking cargo, transported as transit via territory of the country, with use of GPS technologies.
The Regulatory Impact Assessment website published a draft resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan “On measures of organization of tracking cargoes, transported with automobiles as transit via the territory of Uzbekistan with use of GPS technologies”.
According to the draft resolution, the Government of Uzbekistan plans to provide a right to legal entities, providing tracking services of automobiles with use of GPS technologies, to realize system on tracking cargo, passing territory of Uzbekistan as transit.
The document said that the legal entities, providing tracking services, should provide their services to transporters based on signed agreements.
Legal entities, providing tracking services, should provide information on automobiles, passing territory of Uzbekistan as transit, to the customs bodies for free-of-charge. Sofware and GPS devices should be provided for free to customs bodies during usage time.
The document said that usage of GPS tracking system is allowed at automobiles, which were allowed to transit territory of Uzbekistan. The document said that the automobiles with GSP trackers, transiting territory of Uzbekistan, will be freed from physical customs escort.
The draft resolution also envisages creation of dispatcher center on control and monitoring automobiles, transporting transit goods in territory of Uzbekistan with use of GPS technologies under the State Customs Committee of Uzbekistan.
