World Bank provides additional resources to sewerage project in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The World Bank issued additional financial resources at the size of US$105 million to Uzbekistan to realize a project on rehabilitation of sewerage networks in Bukhara and Samarkand.
The loan to Uzbekistan will be allocated due to resources of the International Development Association (IDA). The loan was issued for 25 years with five-year grace period.
The World Bank issued US$55 million to the Government of Uzbekistan in 2009 to implementation of the Bukhara and Samarkand Sewerage Project. Total cost of the project is US$63 million.
The project will help mitigate the environmental impact from wastewater pollution, and improve the efficiency and sustainability of wastewater management in Bukhara and Samarkand.
The project will assist to rehabilitation and limited expansion of sewerage systems in Bukhara and Samarkand.
