Mitsubishi Heavy Industries to build chemical complex in Navoi

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (Japan) will construct a chemical complex on production of ammonia and carbamide at Navoiazot, the press service of Uzkimyosanoat (Uzbek Chemical Industry) said.
Japanese company won a tender for construction of the complex, which was announced in 2014. Currently, the sides are holding talks on terms of the contract.
According to investment programme of Uzbekistan for 2015, the designed capacity of the complex with the cost of US$961.74 million will be 660,000 tonnes of ammonia and 577,500 tonnes of carbamide a year.
The project will be finance due to loan of the Fund for Reconstruction and Development of Uzbekistan for US$320 million, own funds of Navoiazot, loans of local and foreign banks. It is planned to start construction in 2015.
Navoiazot is a largest chemical plant of Uzbekistan. The plant was launched in 1964 and it specializes on production of nitrogenous fertilizers, nitronic fiber, as well as integrated production of organic synthesis.
