Uzbekistan privatizes over 394 enterprises in Jan-Sep

The committee said over 20.1% of privatized objects fell to share of Tashkent region and 19% to Tashkent city, 8.9% in Ferghana region, 7.4% in Samarkand region and 6.3% in Namangan region.
It added that the 35.3% of privatized projects fell to share of local authorities, 14.2% to Public Education Ministry, 7.6% to Health Ministry and 6.1% to Agriculture and Water Resources Ministry and 4.8% to Uzbekneftegaz (Uzbek oil and gas).
The country received 71.6 billion soums from privatization and decentralization in January-September 2007. The Uzbek statistic body said 55.1% of total received resources came from the privatization of objects in Tashkent city, 25.5% in Tashkent region, 7.4% in Khorezm region and 3.4% in Samarkand region.
